Your Role and What You\’ll Be Doing
We\’re currently recruiting for an Estate Accounting Technician to join our Tax, Trusts and Compliance team in our Chichester office. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering accurate and timely estate accounting services to a high-net-worth UK and international client base.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare interim and final estate accounts in line with STEP guidelines and internal standards
- Support senior fee earners in estate administration and compliance
- Complete SA900 tax returns, Estate Registrations, and 60-Day CGT returns
- Calculate and report income tax, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax liabilities
- Prepare R185 Tax Deduction Certificates for residual beneficiaries
- Liaise with HMRC, investment managers, and internal teams to ensure smooth communication and documentation
- Stay up to date with relevant tax legislation and regulatory changes
- Manage sensitive financial data with professionalism and discretion
- Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and case management systems for accurate data handling
- Contribute to business development and participate in training and development activities
About You
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
- Experience with case management systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Understanding of estate and trust accounting principles
- Proven experience in preparing tax returns and handling income tax, CGT, and IHT compliance
