ILPRA Systems UK Ltd, part of the Ilpra Group – a company listed on the Italian Stock Exchange and a leader in food, medical and cosmetic packaging – is looking for a Service Technician for its site in Swindon. The role involves installation, commissioning, maintenance and technical support on ILPRA machinery at customer sites across the UK market.
Main Responsibilities
- Installation, commissioning, and maintenance of automatic machinery (e.g., Fill Seal, inline machines, sachet machines, vertical systems, etc.).
- Diagnosis and repair of mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults.
- PLC interventions for I/O identification and troubleshooting.
- Reading and interpreting electrical and pneumatic schematics.
- Providing technical support to customers during and after installation.
- Autonomous management of service activities, including work on complex systems.
- Travel as required, with an average of 10–40 hours of overtime per month and 0–12 overnight stays depending on workload.
Requirements
- Solid experience in mechanics, electromechanics, and pneumatics.
- Knowledge of PLCs.
- Ability to read electrical diagrams and interpret complex systems.
- Knowledge of drivers, servo drives, inverters, brushless motors and dosing systems.
- Competence with digital and analog sensors.
- Familiarity with HMI panels and automation logic.
- Strong troubleshooting attitude and ability to work independently.
- Good knowledge of English (written and spoken).
- Willingness to relocate to the UK (full visa support provided by the company).
