The Clece Group is one of the largest domiciliary care providers in the country employing over 8000 staff and comprised of 14 subsidiary companies. We are seeking an Immigration expert to assist with overseeing the Group’s sponsorship programme and right to work processes. From processing applications and complying with reporting obligations through to providing training, auditing and championing best practice the role offers you a unique opportunity to join our in-house legal team. You will be supported by the Head of Legal and have a team of part-time Immigration Leads who will report to you on matters of Immigration.
We are seeking an experienced immigration professional, preferably with experience of the Care Worker visa and large corporate structures, eager to embrace this rare in-house opportunity to deliver a robust and compliant immigration programme. The role involves management of multiple sponsorship licences and offers responsibility, autonomy, direct client contact as well as support from our external Immigration solicitors. This is a hands-on commercial opportunity and a fantastic opportunity to grow with the role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Reviewing and enhancing our existing sponsorship management programme and right to work processes and paperwork;
- Processing applications and transfer requests via SMS and any required backend management;
- Drafting affidavits;
- Ensuring compliance with legislative and reporting obligations;
- Right to work checks and the application of the statutory defence;
- Providing training;
- Conducting audits and spot checks;
- Collating sponsorship data for senior management;
- Providing advice and undertaking legal research;
- Where capacity permits, assisting the legal team in other areas as wide ranging as safeguarding, employment, property, data protection, public procurement and contract law.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Ideally, 3-5+ years’ business immigration experience
- Knowledge of immigration legislation and experience of dealing with the Home Office
- Willingness to support change to working systems and processes given the regularity with which Home Office rules change
- Comfortable working under pressure with the ability to plan and prioritise work;
- Ability to work both alone and collaboratively with other team members whilst managing a busy workload
- Organisational skills including a flexible, pragmatic approach to problem-solving
- Confidence in client facing communications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Commercially aware
