Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable HGV C1 Driver (tramper) to join our transport team in Blackburn. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage delivery schedules effectively. Experience with curtain-side trailers is highly desirable.
Duties
- Start Date: Immediate
- Operate a New Shape MAN HGV in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations. A minimum of two years\' experience in HGV C1 is required.
- Safely load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of loads on trailers.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transit.
- Communicate effectively with the transport team and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while on the road.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, ensuring that goods are delivered timely.
Experience & Benefits
- Proven experience as a Commercial HGV C1 Delivery Driver is essential.
- Familiarity with curtain-side trailer operations is essential.
- Valid Drivers CPC qualification & Digi Card
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best driving practices.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently.
- A good understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures will be beneficial.
- PAYE - £800 per week (Monday to Friday) + £25 nights out
- LTD and Self-Employed Drivers also welcome at £1000 per week, including nights out
- Fixed and punctual weekly pay.
- All MAN TGX 510 are 70 or 22 plate
Important considerations before applying for this position:
- You will primarily operate from BB1 2QH; please check travel times before applying.
- Currently, all work involves curtain-side general haulage, so only apply if you are comfortable with strapping and opening/closing curtains.
- We are only operating MAN TGX 510 trucks, so you will only be driving these trucks during your time with us.
- We offer competitive pay, but we are only looking for reliable and safe drivers, and you are expected to keep your truck clean and tidy.
- This work is straightforward, and you will be well-supported by our planners.
