ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN At Ilmor, we specialise in the design, simulation, development and manufacture of powertrain systems, electronics, and software for Motorsport, Automotive and Marine applications. You would be working for a business which is highly invested in technology, at the forefront of engineering developments and in an environment which truly has a family feel and everyone knows your name. We are growing our pool of talent for exciting new projects and are looking for Electrical Technicians. You can expect your skills to be deployed across a diverse range of racing and high-performance non-racing powertrain projects. You will join a team of innovative Engineers and Technicians and will work with some of the world’s top Motorsport and Automotive brands. You should be able to demonstrate experience and familiarity with: DR25 systems, motorsport wiring specifications and premier racing series wiring harness design. Harness testing using a dedicated tester (Cirris etc). Assembly and test of electronic systems of varying complexity, harnesses, sensors and actuators. Ability to build small circuits to a drawing. High quality hand-soldering ability is essential. Manual SMD work and rework would be an advantage. Desirable but not essential: Electrical design of full harnesses with experience of design for EMC. Good mentoring skills. Ability to design and manufacture small electronic prototype circuits. Combined with this experience, it is essential that you possess: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Some work may be remotely performed or will be dealing with remote locations during design phases so an ability to convey and capture requirements verbally is essential. Honesty and integrity The ability to work effectively as an individual or as a member of a team, even when under pressure Self motivation. Work is often unsupervised and covers multiple responsibilities so there’s a need to self-schedule as necessary.
