DESIGN ENGINEER This is a full time onsite position. At Ilmor, we specialise in the design, simulation, development and manufacture of powertrain systems, electronics, and software for Motorsport, Automotive and Marine applications. With an international presence, we value ourselves on providing technologically advanced solutions. We are innovating at pace in the development of high efficiency, race, and production ready, ICE and EV solutions for both land and sea. You would be working for a business which is highly invested in technology, at the forefront of engineering developments and in an environment which truly has a family feel and everyone knows your name. We are growing our pool of talent for exciting new projects and are looking for Engineers with robust Mechanical Design experience, combined with a passion for Engines and Powertrains. You can expect to be involved in the design of major engine components and assemblies across a spectrum of high-end powertrain projects. You will join a team of innovative Design Engineers and will work with some of the world’s top Motorsport and Automotive brands. You should be able to demonstrate: At least three years post graduate experience in the field of Powertrain Design A good degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering Strong understanding of engineering principles and IC engine systems Proven ability in the design of major powertrain components An understanding of engine design, manufacture and assembly 3D CAD & FEA stress analysis skills (preferably using Catia V5 and Ansys) Good customer and supplier liaison skills Combined with this experience, it is essential that you possess: Honesty and integrity The ability to work effectively as an individual and as a member of a team, even when under pressure Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Structured approach to work with the ability and flexibility to meet tight deadlines The ability to generate new approaches and innovate ideas A genuine desire and determination to deliver commitments Good communication skills in verbal and written formats Benefits: A competitive salary which will reflect your career to date, as well as your skills and level of experience Performance related bonus 35 days standard annual leave Generous non-contributory pension scheme Company-wide team activity events A private medical health scheme Life assurance We are an out-of-town location with free on-site parking and easy walking access to shops, cafes and buses.
