SAP FICO Solution Architect, Public Cloud

Job Summary

Syntax Systems Ltd is seeking a highly experienced SAP FICO Lead Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) solutions. This key role will be instrumental in defining the SAP FICO strategy, ensuring seamless integration with other SAP modules, and driving financial transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess extensive SAP FICO expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable and high‑performance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and design SAP FICO solutions: lead overall architecture, configuration, and deployment of SAP FI and CO.
• Integration leadership: ensure seamless integration of SAP FICO with Sales and Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM), and other modules.
• Strategic planning: define the SAP FICO roadmap aligning with business objectives and emerging tech trends.
• Technical oversight: guide system performance, best practices, and process optimization to improve financial reporting.
• Stakeholder collaboration: work closely with finance leaders, IT teams, and external partners to gather requirements and drive initiatives.
• Customization & enhancements: oversee SAP FICO customization, enhancements, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal functionality and compliance.
• Mentorship & leadership: lead and mentor a team of SAP consultants, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development.
• Compliance & security: ensure solutions adhere to compliance standards, financial regulations, and security policies.

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of SAP FICO experience, with 5‑10 years in an architectural or leadership role.
• In‑depth knowledge of SAP FI and CO processes, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, asset accounting, and controlling.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP S/4HANA, Fiori, and cloud‑based SAP solutions for finance.
• Proven track record of leading SAP FICO projects and guiding technical teams.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex SAP financial environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry‑specific SAP FICO implementations experience.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (IFRS, GAAP) and financial reporting tools.
• Previous consultancy experience.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• SAP FICO certification desirable.
• Project‑management certifications (PMP, Agile) and other SAP modules viewed as advantage.
