Services include wellbeing audits and strategy development, surveys and analysis, specialist mental health and resilience training, and vocational rehabilitation, occupational health and absence management support.
Role Description
Illuminate is expanding its network of VRCs and Occupational Health consultants as we look to grow our client-base across the country, particularly in Coventry and Warwickshire. This is an associate role for a DSE Assessor and Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant.
You will provide vocational rehabilitation support, including assessing work capacity, advising on reasonable adjustments, and planning graded return-to-work programs in collaboration with employees, managers, and HR. Tasks include triage assessments, liaison with clients and employees, writing clear assessment reports, maintaining accurate records, and communicating evidence-based recommendations in a supportive, non-judgmental manner.
We are seeing increased demand, especially for referrals requiring a medical background.
These referrals would be for employers supporting sustained employment or a return to work for a range of health conditions.
Eligibility criteria
- At least 3 years of experience in vocational rehabilitation, occupational health (OH) either within the employment or insurance market
- Experience and qualifications in conducting Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments, ergonomic or workstation assessments, and understanding of relevant health and safety and workplace wellbeing standards.
- Ideally experience supporting individuals with mental health issues in a workplace setting
- Happy to travel to client sites, across the UK, specifically in the West Midlands
- Member of VRA or related body
- A medical background is preferred but not essential
- Commitment to the values of empathy, leading by example, and enthusiasm, with a genuine interest in workplace mental health, wellbeing, and inclusive practice.
Illuminate uses a GDPR compliant VR platform to manage referrals, consent, and report writing using a standard report template. We would provide access and training in the use of this platform.
