As a Territory Account Manager here at Illumina, you will help grow our genomics portfolio with Healthcare, Research and Commercial customers, including Hospitals, Universities, Pharma, Biotech and Service Providers. You will support the development of account plans, learn how to identify and qualify new business opportunities, and help deliver excellent customer experience. This is an ideal role for someone with a life science background who enjoys new business development and is excited to develop.

You bring a strong technical foundation in molecular biology or genomics, gained through your degree and/or hands‐on lab experience, and you are motivated to apply this in a customer‐facing role focused on healthcare, research and commercial customers such as pharma, service providers and biotech companies. You enjoy new business development, from prospecting and opening doors to supporting the conversion of qualified leads into deals, and you are curious, proactive and highly organised. You have good listening skills, can build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders, and are eager to learn how to manage a pipeline, work towards targets and contribute to team success in a fast‐paced, mission‐driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop high‐value, long‐term profitable customer accounts through relationship building sales techniques.
- Identify and manage high‐caliber genetic analysis sales opportunities through professional screening processes and use of all available information resources.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of prospects including personnel and responsibilities, budgeting, internal politics, products and services, competition and market.
- Prepare compelling customer sales presentations and participate in all sales activities and assist with general customer demonstrations, training and support.
- Negotiate all genetic analysis sales in territory and generate associated sales contracts and quotations.
- Maintain profit margins through effective sales negotiation.
- Coordinate and communicate sales activities and strategies effectively to supervisors.
- Develop and maintain all account/contact details within Illumina's CRM database. Utilize same to effectively monitor and direct customer purchasing activities.
- Leverage CRM system to grow sales from existing customer base and expand customer base in assigned territory.
- Provide regular and accurate sales forecast updates.
Requirements
- Strong technical background in molecular biology or genomics is required.
- Developing professional and strategic sales skills with proven ability to develop and grow key accounts through networking at all levels on the customer organization. Additionally, ability to take qualified leads and turn them into closed deals.
- Excellent listening, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
