We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant for our client based in Partington, M31. Pay rate £13.51/hour. 40 hours a week expectation from 22:00 to 06:30, Sunday to Thursday - night shift. 20 minutes paid break and 30 minutes unpaid. Overtime is £19.77/hour over 40 hours.
About The Role
You will be a support for the existing Maintenance Technician to ensure the smooth and continued running of the plant. You will take direction from our experienced engineers while assisting in scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance work, breakdowns, cleaning and working with the baler. This is a development role and an ideal opportunity for someone who has the right aptitude and appetite for a career within the company in a technical field.
Requirements
- Experience in working on a busy manufacturing site, with knowledge and practical understanding of Health & Safety related activities.
- A pragmatic and logical approach to work tasks, with a hands-on work ethic.
- Flexible, able to take direction and comfortable with communicating at all levels.
- High level of physical fitness required, as this will require working at height and in confined spaces.
- No maintenance experience is required as training will be given, but is ideal.
- Client is looking for someone with some mechanical/engineering background.
Main Responsibilities
- Take direction from the experienced Maintenance Engineers in supporting them in all areas of the plant maintenance, including scheduled maintenance, breakdowns and unscheduled maintenance.
- Cleaning of equipment and general maintenance around the plant as directed by the Operations Shift Managers and Engineers.
