We are seeking a new trustee with experience in accounting/finance to join our board of seven. IKWRO is a by and for women only charity and currently positions are open to those who identify as a woman. Desirable that you have some knowledge of violence against women and girls.

What difference will you make?

As a trustee with good accounting/finance skills we hope you will provide the assurance and confidence to the board of the charity's financial position in what is a very challenging aspect of the work of the charity. Everyone who joins IKWRO, in whatever capacity, states how caring and supportive the organisation is and our recent Women's Aid audit commended us on this aspect of our work.

What will you be doing?

IKWRO's board consists of 7 trustees made up of survivors, researchers, a legal person, health professional and social care professional. All work full time apart from 1 and are spread around London and the Midlands. We are a fairly stable group with most serving at least 3-4 years. Despite efforts IKWRO remains largely a grant funded organisation. We are looking for a treasurer who is interested in supporting with the expansion of funding streams through such things as social media, donor sponsorship and legacies. Our board has a close relationship with our senior management team which includes an extremely good finance officer. There is a treasury sub group which handles the details of the finances and the board want to be more informed about where the gaps are and forecasting to meet the business plan.
