Key Responsibilities
- Operate a 30-ton mobile crane safely and efficiently.
- Perform lifting and positioning of heavy mining equipment and materials.
- Conduct daily pre-start inspections and report any defects.
- Follow approved lifting procedures, load charts and manufacturer requirements.
- Work closely with riggers, banksmen and supervisors during lifting operations.
- Ensure loads are properly secured before lifting.
- Maintain safe working distances from personnel, vehicles and other equipment.
- Comply with all mine health and safety procedures.
- Report hazards, incidents, equipment faults and unsafe conditions.
- Maintain good housekeeping around the crane and work area.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating a 30-ton mobile crane.
- Valid and relevant crane operator certification/competency.
- Good knowledge of safe lifting practices and crane operations.
- Ability to read and understand crane load charts.
- Experience with pre-start inspections and basic equipment checks.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Previous mining experience will be an advantage, particularly coal mining.
- Ability to work shifts and in a demanding mining environment.
- Reliable, safety-conscious and able to work as part of a team.
