Network Build Engineer

Job Title: Network Engineer – Rack Builds & Installs

Location: Warrington (On-site)

Duration: 6 months

Rate: Negotiable (Outside IR35)

We’re looking for hands-on engineers to join a leading telco provider’s workshop team, supporting the build and configuration of core infrastructure.

You’ll be joining a fast-paced, technical environment where your work will directly support major fixed and mobile network deployments across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Physical installation of networking and telecoms hardware (e.g. Cisco/Juniper routers, switches, voice gateways)
• Rack build and layout according to predefined designs
• Cabling (power and data), cable management, and documentation
• Equipment staging and preparation for customer deployment
• Basic testing and powering up of kit
• Working to build guides, diagrams, and workshop procedures
• Supporting proof of concept and solution builds under the guidance of senior engineers

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a rack build, workshop, or staging environment
• Comfortable handling and installing network infrastructure equipment
• Familiar with IP, transmission, or telecoms equipment (Cisco, Juniper ideal)
• Able to follow technical build documentation
• Awareness of health & safety in a workshop environment
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

Desirable Qualifications

• ECS Datacomms or CSCS (not mandatory but beneficial)
• Manual handling or workshop H&S training
• Experience in telco, data centre, or large-scale networking environments

Contract Details

• Full-time on-site (Mon–Fri)
• 6-month rolling contract
