To support our growth, IKOS Consulting UK is seeking to recruit talented Rolling Stock Mechanical Engineers.
The Role
As part of the Rolling Stock team, you will become involved in a wide variety of projects. These could be small problem-solving projects or feasibility studies, maintenance extensions, through to full systems integration projects. The Rolling Stock team is not only involved in passenger rolling stock; we also undertake projects on locomotives as well as On-track Machines and engineering vehicles. Not all the tasks will be purely mechanical which is why you will have a broad knowledge of Rolling Stock and be able to take control of projects and tasks with limited supervision.
You will have good interpersonal skills and be able to easily communicate with your colleagues and be comfortable liaising and communicating with our clients. You will not only be responsible for the technical delivery of projects, but you will be comfortable managing budgets, programmes and looking after the commercial side of projects. You may also be required to manage a small team in the course of the project delivery.
The role is hybrid; however, a flexible mindset is essential. You may be required to work on-site at our client’s premises for a period of time, as well as in our Derby office or other locations as the job dictates.
Requirements
- Engineering Degree (BEng or MEng) or equivalent preferred
- Proven background in Rolling Stock Engineering and project delivery
- Experience of applying professional engineering judgement to support engineering projects
- Experience of carrying out technical document review and analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
