IKOS is the leading European consulting firm specialising in railway engineering. We are committed to participating in the ecological transition and to developing the means of transportation of the future that are safe and durable.
We are looking for a highly capable and curious professional to join a fast-moving, strategic programme focused on Generative AI. This role will be responsible for the developing and delivering of GenAI validation systems.
The successful candidate will be part of an international team lead from London - by our GenAI Global lead and IKOS UK CTO - and with other members in Paris and Madrid.
The ideal candidate is up to date with the latest developments in GenAI, understands both its potential and limitations, and is comfortable working in an environment that values rapid iteration, cross-functional application and value-driven outputs.
The Role:
- Design, development, testing, deployment, improvement and support of Gen AI Validation system.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of GenAI failure modes, evaluation problems and review/assurance challenges.
- Ability to translate research and literature into concrete product requirements, UX concepts and development priorities.
- Comfort working across research, product definition, experimentation and implementation.
- Good judgement on how to make review workflows more robust, more transparent and more efficient for engineers.
- Capability to work in a rapid iteration environment and refine the product from testing and operational feedback.
Desirable:
- Exposure to psychology, human factors, safety/quality review, assurance, evaluation science or similar adjacent disciplines.
- Hands-on experience using GenAI to support knowledge work or deliverables in a professional setting.
- Experience designing or improving review workflows, QA workflows, evaluator interfaces or human-in-the-loop systems.
Personal attributes:
- Strong problem-solving ability, with intellectual curiosity, sound judgement and the ability to think from first principles.
- A fast-learning mindset, with the ability to work effectively in a rapidly evolving GenAI environment.
- Up-to-date awareness of GenAI capabilities, limitations and risks, including frontier model behaviour, failure modes, tooling trends, deployment patterns and governance considerations.
- A mature approach to security, confidentiality and information handling, with an understanding of need-to-know access, least privilege, compartmentalisation and controlled onboarding/offboarding.
- Strong systems thinking, with the ability to understand how different technologies, disciplines and operational factors connect.
- Comfort operating in fail-fast, rapid-iteration environments where priorities and assumptions may change quickly.
- Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, IT, quality and programme leadership teams in multiple countries.
- An evidence-based mindset, using literature, benchmarks, testing and operational feedback to improve systems and ways of working over time.
