AEGIS (part of the IKOS Group) is a dynamic engineering consultancy specialising in rail transport. The company seeks a Railway Safety Assurance Engineer to support its growing Engineering and Assurance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safety engineering expertise and advice for potential solutions.
  • Support the delivery of safety assurance documentation, including the production of Safety Plans and Strategies.
  • Chair or act as Secretary for HazID/HAZOP meetings.
  • Prepare and manage Hazard Records.
  • Define Safety Requirements and develop FMECAs and FTAs.
  • Write Safety Reports.

Qualifications

  • Experience with rolling stock (passenger or OTM/OTP) and their subsystem interfaces.
  • Proven knowledge of safety/system assurance processes, including EN50126 and related legislation (ROGS, CSM‐RA).
  • Understanding of railway standards such as National Technical Specification Notices, Railway Group and Industry Standards, and Euro Norms.
  • Experience using RAMS tools and techniques (hazard identification, risk assessment, FTA, FMECA, reliability assessments).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder interface at both technical and contractual levels.
