Responsibilities
- Comply with all plant safety and health requirements, including the correct use of PPE.
- Qualified to run four (4) production line job functions (Winder, Fiber Feeder, Re-winder, Dry End Utility).
- Ensure proper raw materials are staged and have enough for the shift.
- Ensure all machine settings are within the specified range for the product being made, utilizing setup sheets.
- Ensure proper adjustments are made to correct production issues as they arise.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks in your assigned area using powered and non-powered hand tools.
- Operate a forklift in compliance with IKO standards.
- Successfully complete all documentation required for your assigned area (start of shift, during shift, end of shift).
- Perform various non-routine maintenance and housekeeping tasks during planned and unplanned machine downtime.
- Report all noncompliance production and quality metrics to shift supervisor in a timely manner.
- Work in a team setting with other employees, tradesmen, and management.
- Organize and practice good housekeeping of work area, tools, and parts.
- All other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in medium to heavy industrial manufacturing or construction industry preferred.
- Experience with standard computer applications.
- Experience with Human Machine Interface control screens.
- Experience with Statistical Process Control charting.
- Prior experience working a 12-hour rotating shift schedule preferred.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods of time.
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow directions and specific instructions.
- Good communication skills; Fluent in English - Reading, Writing and Speaking.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a routine basis.
- Must be able to walk and/or stand 90% of the shift.
- Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
