Job Description Summary: One of the key roles of the shipping team member is to be cross trained to coordinate and print the load/ pick documents for the outbound carriers. They will also assure safe loading of materials to be shipped to our customers. Must be committed to safe forklift operations and have the ability to work from a load/ pick document.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a load/ pick slip for carrier to bring to shipping department.
- Ability to safely operate a sit down forklift while maintaining a valid forklift certification.
- Must be comfortable working outside in the elements.
- Communicate with the drivers to ensure the accuracy of the load as well as safety requirements for loading materials.
- Ability to identify from the load/ pick list the product to be loaded.
- Instruct and guide the truck drivers where they need to go in order to be safely loaded.
- Must be willing to cross train in other duties in the shipping department.
- Must adhere to all of IKO safety policies and procedure.
- Exceptional attendance including working every day, on time as scheduled.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
- Must have some computer skills. WMS preferred.
- Must be able to pass a forklift certification class and test.
- Must be able to read a load/ pick list.
- Must be able to work overtime as necessary, which may include weekends.
- Must be able to pass a fit for duty physical including drug testing and background check.
- Must be able to lift 76lbs. unassisted.
