IKM Testing UK in Aberdeen are now recruiting for an experienced Mechanic to join their busy Workshop Department. Prior experience of working within the Oil & Gas industry is essential. To be considered for this position, candidates must have in-depth knowledge and experience working with both, 90/180k nitrogen pumps and fluid pumps including HT400 / HD500s. Due to the variety of equipment across the fleet, additional on the job training will also be provided. You will be driven, reliable, flexible, and clearly demonstrate the can-do attitude we expect of all IKM employees. The position will be based at our Westhill facility in Aberdeenshire and you must be within easy daily commuting distance of Westhill. This position involves working in a fast-paced, busy environment and additional hours may also be required during busy periods.
Overall Purpose of the Job
The primary functions are to maintain all IKM owned equipment; be prepared to visit client sites to carry out repairs/servicing on mobilised IKM equipment; and keep up-to-date service records and liaise with the Certification Coordinator on all matters regarding certification.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Participate in daily Tool Box Talks.
- Perform company operations in a safe and controlled manner and ensure the safety of yourself, colleagues and associated personnel whilst doing so.
- Execute as directed all workshop and yard related activities including maintenance, fabrication, and equipment function testing.
- Ensure all equipment requested is allocated and prepared for operational jobs in line with load out requirements.
- Ensure any defects reported from jobs are investigated and rectified to prevent re-occurrence.
- Ensure personal housekeeping is maintained to a high standard to improve efficiency and safety at all times.
- Ensure all equipment is stored in designated areas of the workshop/yard.
- Ensure that IKM’s Status Label System is used at all times.
- Ensure that all IKM procedures are adhered to.
- Liaise with stores to ensure there are spare parts within the store to cover routine maintenance of all equipment.
- Mentor trainees during their time in the workshop.
- Assist and work closely with the Logistics Coordinator regarding allocation of kit for Mobilisation.
- Ensure that all IKM equipment is kept clean and tidy.
- Perform other duties which may be required as directed by the Maintenance Foreman or Workshop Manager.
- Adhere to Company’s policies and procedures.
- Represent IKM’s best interests at all times.
Experience Required
- Proven mechanical background ideally with diesel engines, fluid pumps and nitrogen equipment.
- Must have previous experience working in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Sound technical knowledge of Pipeline and Process testing operations and the equipment used.
Preferred
- Forklift truck license up to 16T.
- Experience working within a similar discipline.
Personal Skills
- Must have previous experience working in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Must be enthusiastic and committed to the role.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work well in a team whilst also independently using own initiative.
