About the role

As Product Owner you will be a key member of the wider delivery team working to develop the Iken product suite and responsible for helping to ensure that our products meet the needs of our existing and prospective clients in the markets in which we operate. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining the product backlog and product roadmap, ensuring requirements are well-defined and adhere to design and usability standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working as part of the Product Team in the discovery process, managing and maintaining the product backlog across the product suite and across the product lifecycle.
  • Delivery of product initiatives according to client, user, and business requirements.
  • Representing the voice of the customer within the development process, ensuring all requirements meet agreed standards for usability, accessibility, and quality.
  • Planning, researching, and carrying out focus groups and product demos with clients, prospects, partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to gather high-level requirements as part of roadmap planning and discovery processes.
  • Collaborating in the prioritisation of requirements and the creation of the product roadmap, in line with the product strategy.
  • Writing clear and relevant user stories based upon detailed product specifications and supporting the delivery team by answering questions that arise through example mapping and story refinement.
  • Participating in daily scrum meetings, planning, retrospective, example mapping and backlog refinement sessions to address product or prioritisation related issues and opportunities.
  • Participating in release activities through sign-off meetings, the production of communication to stakeholders, as well as documentation and internal demos.
  • Ensuring function specific reporting on delivery of the roadmap and usage of the products where appropriate.

What we're looking for:

  • Strong knowledge of Agile principles and processes.
  • Experience in a similar role (Product Owner, Business Analyst, Product Manager).
  • Experience with tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
  • Experience managing a product backlog.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills with sharp attention to detail.
  • Commercial awareness and business consultancy skills.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner qualification desirable, but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of systems integrations, product APIs, and data exchange as well as working with integration partners desirable, but not essential.
  • Appreciation of the benefits of user experience in application development including intuitive design and UX/UI through the user journey.
  • Able to be self-motivating and take initiative.
  • Ability to manage time and work to deadlines.
  • Ability to translate requirements into clear user stories.
