Overview

IKEA Warrington, WA5 7TY is looking to welcome an Electrical Visual Merchandising Assistant to join our creative team. This role combines technical expertise with creativity, supporting store builds, layout changes and visual displays through electrical work and fixture installations.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 City & Guilds Electrotechnical qualification (Edition 18)
  • Recognised training of basic hand tool electrical & ladder training (or equivalent), documented annual check to assess works to a certified standard
  • Knowledge of electrical regulations, safety best practices and single‑phase mains operation
  • Experience with cable routing, termination of cables, wiring of plugs and light fittings
  • Understanding of communication and interior design health and safety practices
  • Creative thinking supported by commercial visual competence and an eye for aesthetic
  • Openness to change, flexibility and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong teamwork and collaborative approach across functions
  • Positive communication style with influencing skills and situational leadership
  • Support for store carpenters & visual merchandising team with fixture installation, shop fitting and carpentry in‑store
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to the design process with team

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of commercial changes across the store, including painting, basic electrical work, fixture installation, assembly and disassembly of shop fittings.
  • Assist with store development projects, supporting new builds from initial planning through to completion.
  • Maintain a consistently high standard of store presentation through proactive planning and implementation of range and layout changes.
  • Ensure all basic electrical work is carried out safely and in line with current compliance requirements and company standards.
  • Put customers first by working safely and efficiently on the shop floor, minimizing disruption and maintaining an attractive shopping environment.
  • Collaborate closely with the Communication & Interior Design team and other business functions to plan commercial spaces and deliver store projects successfully.
  • Deliver work to a high standard while balancing quality, simplicity and cost efficiency, following established processes and best practices.
  • Contribute ideas and initiatives that support business growth, operational improvements and long‑term profitability.
  • Execute Communication & Interior Design and store action plans with attention to detail and a sense of urgency, helping to create an engaging and inspiring customer experience.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to deliver commercial priorities, maximize opportunities and support store performance.

Benefits

  • Starting salary of £27,540 per annum, based on competence and experience.
  • 39 hours working 5 days per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Working hours between 6 am and 2:30 pm.
