IKEA Southampton are looking to welcome an Interior Designer, in IKEA we call this an Interior Design Co-Worker. We are looking for a passionate and creative interior designer to join our IKEA store team. As an interior designer, you will bring visions to life with innovative and functional design solutions. Your responsibilities will include space planning, selecting IKEA products and materials, and ensuring each project aligns with our brand's aesthetic and practical standards.
If you have a keen eye for detail, a strong sense of style, and a desire to create beautiful, functional spaces using IKEA's extensive range of products, we would love to hear from you! Note this is a hands-on role where you will be using tools, ladders, and working throughout the store to design and implement projects, display rooms, etc.
What we offer:
- The Start Date of employment will be 26 July 2026.
- Interviews will be between 02 and 08 July.
- Starting salary of £27,541 per annum, based on competence and experience.
- 39 hours a week, working 5 days over 7, including occasional weekends to support business needs.
- Shift patterns ordinarily 07:30am to 16:00pm. We can discuss flexibility to match your life and our business needs during the interview.

What you’ll need to have:
- You have a qualification in interior design.
- A working knowledge in design software such as Autodesk REVIT, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
- You are excited about home furnishings, design and how people live, and have the ability to generate new ideas to inspire our customers.
- You have a hands-on approach, feeling at ease working with various hand tools and comfortable working at heights.
- You can work comfortably and reliably in an autonomous way, ensuring you use your organisational and project management skills to see through projects efficiently and effectively.
- You can manage your time well.
What you'll be doing day to day:
- Use Interior Design competence to strengthen the uniqueness of the IKEA identity, and inspire and surprise our visitors specifically through soft furnishing and styling.
- Work with our commercial calendar, plan inspiring commercial displays for the store, the majority of your time will be spent implementing and bringing your plans to life on the shop floor.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to secure a seamless shopping experience.
- Contribute to positioning the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing in your local market.
- Stay updated on trends in home furnishing and retail experience.
