IKEA Gateshead are looking to welcome a Sales Assistant.

What we offer

  • The Start Date of employment will be 22nd & 23rd November.
  • Competitive hourly rate of £12.60 per hour.
  • 16 Hours working 4 days per week, mainly evening until 22:00pm and weekend shifts including 3 out of 4 weekends.

What you’ll need to have

  • You have a forward thinking mindset, are capable of working on multiple tasks and appreciate being part of the team but also can work with minimum supervision.
  • You have a customer first mindset, where you make the customer know they are valued and supported in everything you do.
  • You are collaborative, make clear decisions, and use your initiative daily.
  • You prioritise and organise your own work to make efficient use of the time in a fast‑paced environment available with strong attention to detail.

What you’ll be doing day to day

  • Support the implementation of seasonal range changes throughout the store.
  • Act quickly on commercial opportunities; change the availability of products, overstocks and out of stocks.
  • You support maximising sales by ensuring your area of responsibility is clean, fully stocked, all products priced, well presented and easy to shop. Some products may involve heavy lifting.
  • You are always interested in the range, curious to learn the stories behind the products and their design.
