IKEA Exeter Safety and Security Assistant Job Description
IKEA Exeter is looking to hire a Safety and Security Assistant to join our Business Risk and Compliance team. This role focuses on protecting co-workers, customers, visitors, and assets from preventable loss, injury, or illness, and aims to contribute to a positive shopping and working environment.

- Flexible working arrangements discussed during the interview
- Contracts available: one 12-hour weekend-only contract and one 24-hour contract working 3 in 4 weekends, including some weekday shifts, possibly early, during the day, or until 21:00

Minimum Requirements
- Passion and experience in retail, customer service, and administrative duties
- Confidence in decision-making, motivation to learn, and a passion for safety
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with excellent interpersonal and analytical abilities
- Ability to work independently, resolve problems, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Computer literacy and familiarity with digital tools
Daily Responsibilities
The role is varied; no two days are the same. Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Safety & Security team through CCTV monitoring and infrastructure review
- Greeting visitors and managing access for contractors and co-workers
- Completing administrative tasks such as compliance and audits
- Interacting professionally with customers, especially if they forget to scan items
- Using safety and security systems; full training will be provided
