IKEA Nottingham are looking to welcome a Commercial Activities Sales Assistant to join our team. Working hours are between 7pm to 12 midnight. This role involves working independently to stock and present seasonally relevant products using IKEA's merchandising principles, creating an inspiring and helpful shopping experience. Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining clean and fully stocked areas (including safe heavy lifting).
  • Balancing commercial priorities when selecting add-ons.
  • Keeping your manager informed while confidently managing your own workload.

Final offers of employment are contingent upon clear results in a mandatory medical questionnaire, which must be completed by all successful candidates due to working after 10pm in store.

The start date of employment will be the 15th of March 2026. Competitive hourly rate of £13.45 per hour. 12 hours weekly, working 3 days over 7 and 3 out of 4 weekends. We can discuss flexibility to match your life and our business needs during the interview.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

Ability to prioritise and make decisions with speed and simplicity. You organise your own work to make efficient use of the time available with great attention to detail. Self-reliant and motivated with proven ability to work independently whilst communicating as part of a wider team. You are skilled at forward planning, can handle several tasks at once with ease, and take pleasure in being a team member as well as fulfilling responsibilities on your own. You have a customer-first mindset, where you make the customer feel valued and supported in everything you do. You take initiative, make well-informed choices, and actively engage with your daily tasks. Proficient with IT equipment.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

This position requires lone working between 7pm and 12 midnight, with appropriate safety procedures in place. Responsibilities include:

  • Stocking & replacing seasonally relevant products displaying them in a way for customers to see them easily.
  • Providing an inspirational shopping experience for our customers by assisting with customer queries in various departments.
  • Managing your workload independently while keeping your line manager informed rather than dependent on ongoing guidance.
  • Supporting maximising sales by ensuring the areas are clean, fully stocked, all products priced, well-presented and easy to shop.
  • Ensuring all add-on products always look great, feel new, and are fully stocked.
  • Presenting them using the four IKEA merchandising basics so they inspire customers and help them find what they need.
  • When choosing add-ons, keeping a healthy balance of profit, sales, and volume in mind, focusing on what is seasonal and commercially relevant.
