We at IKEA Southampton are excited to invite enthusiastic and friendly people to join our amazing Customer Relations team as a Customer Retail Assistant.
These contracts require availability to work full weekends, and one/two shifts during the week (Mon - Fri). Shift times may be between 10:00am and 21:30pm.
As part of this role, you may also be deployed to other areas in the store that are customer-facing, such as in our Customer Warehouse or Sales areas on an ad hoc basis. This means your role will be varied, you will get a great understanding of our products, and get the chance to meet customers at various points of their shopping journey.
WHAT WE OFFER
• £12.60 an hour (Living Wage Foundation Employer).

WHAT YOU\'LL NEED TO HAVE
We are looking for co-workers who strive to give an amazing customer shopping experience; co-workers that always put the customer at the heart of everything they do and inspire others to do the same.
The ideal candidate will have experience - paid, voluntary or at school - of working in a team environment. You will be passionate about learning, and enthusiastic about offering a superb customer experience for our customers. Retail or customer-facing experience is desirable.
This is a fast-paced role, and so you should have demonstrated experience and a willingness to work in a role where you may be serving many customers - especially at the weekends in-store!
WHAT YOU\'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
This role is varied with no two days being the same; one minute you could be on check-outs, and the next minute, you could be assisting customers and providing great customer service in our After Sales / Returns area.
As part of this role, you may also be deployed to other areas in the store that are customer-facing, such as in our Customer Warehouse or Sales areas on an ad hoc basis. This means your role will be varied, you will get a great understanding of our products, and get the chance to meet customers at various points of their shopping journey.
• You aim to create a positive experience for our customers so that they will want to return and shop with us again over time.
• You work together with colleagues in other functions to improve the customer experience.
• Meeting and greeting our customers, assisting customers at the check-outs and returns desk.
• Supporting customers to pay at tills, including scanning items, taking payment, and providing support and guidance at our self-serve scanning area.
• Build loyalty by listening to our customers and using your knowledge of the IKEA product range to offer informed solutions.
