IKEA Croydon are looking to welcome a Visual Merchandiser to the store team. We are seeking a creative, detail‑oriented individual who thrives on generating new ideas, embraces innovation, and enjoys working in an environment of frequent change.
As a Visual Merchandiser, you will design engaging, eye‑catching displays, arrange merchandise to spotlight key products, and ensure our store layout remains both attractive and functional.

- Starting salary of £30,300 based on competence and experience.
- 39 hours working 5 days per week, including early mornings, weekends and night shift to support business needs.

What you’ll need to have:
- You have a relevant design‑based qualification and relevant experience in visual merchandising and/or retail design is a requirement for this role.
- A working knowledge in design software for example Autodesk REVIT, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, or comparable applications.
- You are motivated by retail, home furnishing design and how people live, and have the ability to generate commercial ideas to inspire our customers.
- You are self‑motivated and have a proactive approach, being at ease working with various hand tools and comfortable working at heights.
- You can handle different situations and are able to efficiently manage your time when working to meet agreed deadlines.
- Have a creative spirit complemented by commercial understanding and visual skills, with a keen sense of composition and aesthetics.
What you’ll be doing day to day:
- Use visual merchandising skills to enhance the uniqueness of the IKEA identity in range presentation solutions in the store by working with store layout, range presentation and vitality.
- Understanding the local market to create, plan and implement relevant, inspiring, affordable and commercial range presentation solutions that reflect a wide variety of styles, price levels, meet the many individual tastes and satisfy our visitor's expectations.
- Collaborate with the wider Com&In team and can influence other functions, act quickly to exploit commercial opportunities and understand the impact of actions on the financial results.
- Working with the commercial calendar to implement range changes.
- You will work proactively each day, using hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical lighting solutions confidently and safely as part of your routine tasks.
