We are expanding our home delivery operation and have exciting opportunities to join our growing team as Delivery Drivers! As a Delivery Driver, you will shape a new area in our business, ensuring the on‑time delivery of IKEA goods to customers in the local area while delivering a high level of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete vehicle safety checks and take appropriate action.
- Load goods into the vehicle safely and organize the load to meet allocated timing for each delivery.
- Deliver goods to customers’ homes, taking them into a nominated room and carrying out risk assessments to prevent injury and damage.
- Handle a range of furniture items, using safe manual handling practices, employing both one‑ and two‑person lifting.
- Perform up to 3 runs per day, responsible for loading and unloading the van (load capacity 1.4 tonnes) for each run.
- Efficiently manage the collection and processing of returned products in compliance with IKEA’s returns policy.
Required Qualifications
- Full UK Driver’s Licence held for a minimum of 24 months.
- Experienced and capable driver with proficiency in GPS and map navigation.
- Strong commitment to health and safety, comfortable performing risk assessments.
- Attention to detail, especially when performing vehicle checks.
- Willingness to support teammates and step in to assist when necessary.
- Drug & alcohol test as part of onboarding.
- Completion of a medical questionnaire.
- Background check, including criminal history.
