IKEA Croydon are looking to welcome a Visual Merchandiser to the store team. We seek a creative, detail‑oriented individual who thrives on generating new ideas, embraces innovation, and enjoys working in an environment of frequent change.

As a Visual Merchandiser, you will design engaging, eye‑catching displays, arrange merchandise to spotlight key products, and ensure our store layout remains both attractive and functional.

What We Offer

  • Starting salary of £30,300 based on competence and experience.
  • 39 hours working 5 days per week, including early mornings, weekends and night shift to support business needs.

Qualifications

  • Relevant design‑based qualification and visual merchandising / retail design experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of design software such as Autodesk REVIT, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, or comparable applications.
  • Motivation by retail, home furnishing design and how people live, with the ability to generate commercial ideas to inspire customers.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, comfortable working with hand tools and at heights.
  • Ability to handle different situations and manage time efficiently to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Creative spirit complemented by commercial understanding and visual skills, with a keen sense of composition and aesthetics.

Responsibilities

  • Use visual merchandising skills to enhance the uniqueness of the IKEA identity in range presentation solutions in the store by working with store layout, range presentation and vitality.
  • Understand the local market to create, plan and implement relevant, inspiring, affordable and commercial range presentation solutions that reflect a wide variety of styles, price levels, meet the many individual tastes and satisfy visitors' expectations.
  • Collaborate with the wider Communication & Interior Design team, influence other functions, act quickly to exploit commercial opportunities and understand the impact of actions on financial results.
  • Work with the commercial calendar to implement range changes.
  • Work proactively each day, using hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical lighting solutions confidently and safely as part of routine tasks.
