The start date of employment will be August. Starting salary of £29,577 per annum, based on competence and experience, which we can discuss at interview. 39 hours a week, working Monday to Friday. What You'll Need to Have:
- Qualification in Carpentry NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Wood Occupations/Site Carpentry is essential, or an equivalent qualification such as an HND or NVQ in Carpentry.
- Previous carpentry experience gained in a commercial or retail environment, ideally retail fit-out or from exhibition installations, with good attention to detail.
- Experience in tiling and flooring is desirable but not essential.
- You are excited about home furnishings, design and how people live, and have the ability to generate new ideas to inspire our customers.
- Proven ability to prioritise and organise your workload to make efficient use of time and meet agreed goals and deadlines.
- Clear communication skills with the ability to explain concepts verbally and with visual interpretation.
- Due to Health and Safety, you must be 18 years old or over for this role.
What You'll Be Doing Day to Day:
- Following work briefs agreed with colleagues to implement all store media, such as wall constructions, podiums, fixtures, floor laying, painting and building complex furniture installations.
- Planning and ordering materials and resources, ensuring accurate costs are sought and agreed to maximise efficiency and minimise costs.
- Working with your colleagues to keep the store in excellent shape and inspire our customers.
- Focusing on key tasks to meet the needs and expectations of store visitors and minimise disruption on the shop floor.
- Maintaining safety on the shop floor and taking swift action when safety is compromised.
