IKEA London City is looking to welcome a Visual Merchandiser to the store team. Working at IKEA London City gives you the chance to be part of our new multi-site way of working, working across IKEA Hammersmith and IKEA Oxford Street. We are seeking a creative, detail‑oriented individual who thrives on generating new ideas, embraces innovation, and enjoys working in an environment of frequent change.

As a Visual Merchandiser, you will design engaging, eye‑catching displays, arrange merchandise to spotlight key products, and ensure our store layout remains both attractive and functional.

What We Offer

  • Start date of employment will be 25th July 2026.
  • Starting salary of £30,300 based on competence and experience.
  • 39‑hour working week, 5 days per week, including early mornings and some weekend working to support business needs.
  • Shift patterns start from 07:30am.

What You'll Need to Have

  • Relevant design‑based qualification and experience in visual merchandising and/or retail design is a requirement for this role.
  • Working knowledge of design software such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, or comparable applications.
  • Motivated by retail, home furnishing design and how people live, and able to generate commercial ideas to inspire our customers.
  • Self‑motivated and proactive, comfortable working with various hand tools and at heights.
  • Ability to handle different situations and efficiently manage time when working to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Creative spirit complemented by commercial understanding and visual skills, with a keen sense of composition and aesthetics.

What You'll Be Doing Day to Day

  • Use visual merchandising skills to enhance the uniqueness of the IKEA identity in range presentation solutions in the store by working with store layout, range presentation and vitality.
  • Understand the local market to create, plan and implement relevant, inspiring, affordable and commercial range presentation solutions that reflect a wide variety of styles, price levels, meet the many individual tastes and satisfy our visitors’ expectations.
  • Collaborate with the wider Communications & Insights team and can influence other functions, act quickly to exploit commercial opportunities and understand the impact of actions on the financial results.
  • Work with the commercial calendar to implement range changes.
  • Proactively perform daily tasks using hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical lighting solutions confidently and safely as part of your routine tasks.
