IKEA Gateshead are looking to welcome a Kitchen Production Assistant to join our delightful and hardworking team. This is a fast‑paced role for someone who is passionate about serving simple, good‑quality food.
What We Offer
- Start date of employment will be Sunday 9th August.
- Competitive hourly rate of £13.45 per hour.
- 16, 20 and 24 hour contracts working 4/5 days per week including 3 out of 4 weekends. Mixture of shifts between the hours of 08:00am – 21:30pm.

Requirements
- Prior kitchen and catering experience is a plus, but not required if you are hands‑on and willing to roll up your sleeves.
- Ability to work in an extremely fast‑paced environment. You enjoy working in a busy role, where you will be multi‑tasking and working to deadlines.
- Be self‑reliant and motivated, ready to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to remain organized and detail‑oriented, even when things get busy.
Responsibilities
- You will be preparing and making meals using our ovens and kitchen equipment to offer a taste of Sweden to our customers and co‑workers.
- The kitchen is a safety‑first, fast‑paced environment that requires attention to detail for all things safety as well as efficient multi‑tasking to ensure IKEA remains a safe place for people to shop, work and have fun.
- Preparing for the next day’s trade, as well as managing waste and working in a sustainable and cost‑conscious way.
- Following a cleaning schedule and ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen meets a high standard.
