IKEA Exeter are looking to welcome Safety and Security Assistants to join our delightful and friendly team. At IKEA, we call this role a Business Risk and Compliance Co-worker. If you are looking for a role where you get to build your customer service skills and help co-create the wonderful everyday with our many in-store guests, we would be happy to hear from you.
We have 12-hour contracts working at our co-worker entrance, checking in visitors, contractors, etc. and ensuring risk is managed and safety ensured through the building. This role will allow you to work through the wider store.
What we offer:
- The interviews will be between 11 and 17 June.
- Start date of employment will be Saturday, 04 July.
- Hourly rate of £13.45 per hour.
- Availability to work two 6-hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as ad-hoc shifts through the week (Monday to Friday) is required.
- These are permanent contracts where you will be working throughout the year, including the holiday periods.

What you’ll need to have:
- An interest in and experience in retail, good customer service, and administrative duties.
- Demonstrate professionalism in your decision-making, be motivated to learn and committed to safety.
- A high standard of written and verbal communication skills.
- Interpersonal and methodological problem-solving skills.
- An ability to work in a self-directed environment to resolve problems and to complete tasks within deadlines.
- Proficiency in using computers and digital tools to complete administrative tasks.
What you’ll be doing day to day:
- Contribute to the shopping experience by ensuring a safe environment for our customers and co-workers.
- Support the Safety & Security function in store through monitoring and reviewing of CCTV and other security infrastructure.
- Meet and greet all persons entering the store and maintaining visitor, contractors and co-worker access to and from the store.
- Complete administrative tasks when required, such as compliance and auditing paperwork.
- Work directly with customers at times, for instance, where customers may have forgotten to scan items.
- Work professionally, in a professional and values-driven way.
- Use safety and security systems, and have experience doing so (desirable). Full training will be provided in-role.
