IKEA Exeter are looking to welcome a Weekend Customer Warehouse Operative to join our delightful and friendly team. If you are looking for a role where you get to develop your skills and passion in a warehouse/fulfilment role, and co‑create the wonderful everyday with our many in‑store guests, we would be happy to hear from you. We have a 12‑hour contract working in our Self‑Serve Warehouse. This is a customer‑facing role. If you have been to an IKEA store before, you’ll know this is the area before the check‑outs where customers collect their products. This is a mix of warehouse/fulfilment work with good customer service, so a passion for both is important!

WHAT WE OFFER

  • The interviews will be between 11 and 17 June.
  • Start date of employment will be Saturday, 04 July.
  • Hourly rate of £13.45 per hour.
  • Availability to work two 6‑hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as ad hoc shifts through the week (Monday to Friday) is required.
  • These are permanent contracts where you will be working throughout the year, including the holiday periods.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

  • Previous warehouse experience is beneficial but not essential, all you will need is the motivation to make things happen in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise your workload swiftly and with attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in utilising technical equipment to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure you are prepared to initiate tasks on your own initiative and to participate actively in group efforts.
  • A strong customer service mindset, and the passion to be helpful and attentive to customers as they navigate our Self‑Serve Warehouse.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

  • You will be maintaining the Self‑Serve Warehouse, which means condensing and moving stock, supporting customers with their questions, and making sure that IKEA's flatpack products are accessible, stocked and ready for our customers to purchase.
  • This is a physical role as you will be manual handling of heavy stock.
  • Working with or around heavy machinery and tools, such as counterbalance and pump trucks, and flatbed trolleys, to safely and efficiently transport heavy goods within the warehouse.
  • Ensure all safety protocols and regulations are followed for a secure environment for both our customers and co‑workers.
