Ikarus Capital is a specialist M&A and financing advisory boutique focused exclusively on the renewables and clean power markets, with a primary focus on the UK and Germany and broader coverage across Europe and Africa. Based in Richmond-upon-Thames, we have been active for 14 years and have completed over 50 transactions totalling more than €4bn in transaction value.

Our clients are project developers raising debt or equity for solar, wind, and battery energy storage (BESS) projects, asset owners looking to divest or refinance, and investors seeking to acquire or finance renewable energy assets at various stages of development. We work across the full deal lifecycle — from origination and structuring through to execution — on transactions that are growing in both volume and complexity.

We are currently looking to bring one Analyst into the team immediately due to a vacancy.

What the role involves:

  • Building and maintaining project-specific financial models, including solar PV, onshore wind, and BESS revenue and cashflow models
  • Analysing project economics, revenue stacks, and financing structures; identifying risks and suggesting improvements
  • Preparing investor presentations, information memoranda, and pitchbooks
  • Conducting market and regulatory research to support transaction origination and execution
  • Analysing due diligence materials and summarising findings for senior team members and clients
  • Participating in client and investor meetings
  • Over time, developing your own transaction relationships and, where appropriate, contributing to origination

Because we are a lean team, you will receive direct client and counterparty exposure from early in your tenure — across a broader range of disciplines and transaction types than you would in a structured graduate programme at a large firm.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Natural Sciences, or a related quantitative discipline
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills; proficiency in Excel financial modelling is essential (cashflow/DCF)
  • English at full professional working level
  • German language fluency strongly favoured
  • Genuine interest in renewable energy, energy storage, and the broader energy transition
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and comfortable taking ownership in a small-team environment
  • Additional European languages (French, Spanish, Italian) are a plus
  • Ca 2 years of professional experience; strong graduates without prior professional experience will be considered if they meet all other criteria
  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK

What we offer:

  • Competitive base salary, plus discretionary performance bonus
  • Hybrid working: 2–3 days per week in our Richmond-upon-Thames office
  • Early responsibility and deal exposure that would typically take several years to access at a larger institution
  • Direct involvement across M&A, project finance, and capital raising — not siloed by product or geography
  • A small, high-performing team where your contribution is visible and your development is a priority
