IK Trax is looking for a QC Inspector who will work closely with manufacturing teams to verify first off, in-process and final product acceptance as well as assisting third-party inspectors with customer required external inspections and the creation of documentation packages.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Visual and dimensional inspection against drawings / test procedures.
  • Reading internal and third-party drawings.
  • First off, in-process and Factory Acceptance Testing.

This will include but not be limited to terminations, insulation resistance, temperature operational tests and voltage checks.

  • Lead the company inspection processes for goods inwards/outwards inspection of customer owned and issued products.
  • Fault finding and reporting deficient work that does not comply with contract specifications.
  • Liaise with Production, Engineering, R&D and third-party inspection bodies.
  • Creating documentation packages to both internal and customer specific requirements.
  • Ensuring all measuring equipment is kept safe, maintained, clean and within calibration.
  • Conduct daily surveillance to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Raising non-conformance reports.
  • Ensuring that all quality procedures have been followed and applied prior to dispatch of product.
  • Assists with the company’s Corrective Action Report (CAR) process to investigate quality issues.
  • Support the Quality Improvements & HSE Lead by working closely with all manufacturing teams to collect and analyse customer feedback to implement changes, identify trends, recurring issues, root causes and areas for improvement.
  • Assists with all internal and external audit processes to maintain transparency, compliance and operational integrity for ISO 9001 and ATEX/UKEX/IECEx.

What experience would we like you to have?

Experience in a similar role, ideally within manufacturing or a complex operational environment.

  • Previous experience of manufactured product visual and dimensional inspection.
  • Previous experience of electrical testing, multi-meter and insulation resistance.
  • Previous experience of internal / external calibration of test equipment.
  • Previous experience of working with third-party inspectors / customers.
  • Knowledge of documentation control practices including generation of test records, certificates of conformity, and material traceability documents is preferred but not required.
  • Good communication skills and effective team player.
  • Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft office.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work collaboratively across all manufacturing teams.
