Rebuild an agency. Own the revenue. Help shape the future.
About the agency
Weâre a digital agency in rebuild mode. Today, delivery is contractorâled. The work is solid, but the structure needs to evolve. Our goal is to rebuild the agency into a stable, scalable business with predictable revenue â so we can confidently hire fullâtime staff again and grow the right way. This role is central to that mission.
The role
Weâre looking for a Founding Commercial Director to work directly with the founder to rebuild the commercial engine of the agency. This is not a plugâandâplay sales role. Itâs a senior, handsâon position for someone who wants to shape revenue strategy, close deals, and help define what the agency becomes next. Youâll own new business, partnerships, positioning, and deal strategy â with real influence over how the agency evolves.
What youâll do
- Revenue & New Business
- Own end-to-end business development
- Generate and qualify new opportunities
- Close mid- to largeâticket agency engagements
- Build a predictable, highâquality pipeline
- Protect margins and deal quality
- Lead or coâlead bids and proposals
- Shape scopes and pricing with delivery realities in mind
- Prevent overâpromising and underâpricing
- Improve proposal and bid processes over time
- Shape and refine service offerings
- Reduce reliance on "custom everything"
- Influence pricing and commercial strategy
- Agency Rebuild Support
- Work with the founder to stabilise revenue
- Help determine when contractors should transition to fullâtime hires
- Feed hiring decisions with revenue confidence
- Act as a commercial bridge between sales and delivery
What you wonât be doing
- Dayâtoâday delivery management
- Running marketing execution
- Acting as a shadow CEO
Who this is for
- Senior experience in agency or B2B services sales
- A track record of closing complex, custom engagements
- Experience writing or leading bids and proposals
- Strong commercial judgement (knowing when to say no)
- An existing professional network they can activate
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and rebuild phases
Who this is not for
- Commissionâonly sales profiles
- SaaS AEs without services experience
- Pure outbound or leadâgen specialists
- People who want a rigid, preâdefined role
Compensation & incentives
This role is structured for longâterm alignment, not shortâterm deal chasing:
- Competitive senior base salary
- Commission on closed and paid revenue
- Additional longâterm incentives (profit share / revenue share / milestone bonuses)
- Opportunity to grow into a broader commercial leadership role as the agency scales
Details will be discussed openly with the right candidates.
Work directly with the founder
Real influence over strategy and direction
Build something meaningful, not just hit a quota
Shape the agency you wish youâd worked at before
How to apply
If this sounds like a role youâd build, not just work, weâd love to talk. Apply with a short note explaining:
- Your background in agencies or B2B services
- The types of clients youâve sold to
- Why this kind of rebuild role appeals to you
