In Scotland, our site is a key centre for laser and ultrafast laser technology, specialising in the development, manufacture, and lifecycle support of advanced laser systems for demanding industrial and scientific applications. The Role

You will own and lead a product line, driving its commercial success, customer satisfaction, and market position globally. You will define and execute the product strategy, working cross-functionally to deliver growth, profitability, and long-term value. This is a highly visible, interdisciplinary role with full accountability for product line performance.

What you will be doing:

  • Define, specify, and validate existing and new products aligned to market needs
  • Develop and execute product line strategy across global market segments
  • Own full product lifecycle performance, including:
    • Revenue growth and forecasting
    • Profitability
    • Product quality and performance
    • Market positioning and competitiveness
  • Partner with Sales, Service, and Marketing teams to drive successful go-to-market execution
  • Support marketing campaigns with clear, differentiated product positioning and content
  • Enable global sales teams with effective tools, training, and product insights
  • Act as the key interface between customers, field teams, and the business unit
  • Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform strategy

About You

Proven experience in a technical or scientific environment, with exposure to commercial drivers (e.g. P&L, forecasting, product lifecycle management). Degree in a technical discipline (e.g. Physics, Engineering, Photonics or similar). Strong understanding of one or more of the following areas: Ultrafast lasers or laser-based systems; Scientific instrumentation or spectroscopy; Microscopy or imaging technologies. Demonstrated ability to operate in customer-facing or cross-functional roles. Experience in product management, technical sales, or marketing is advantageous.
