Contract start dates: 15th June, 22nd June, 29th June or 6th July 2026. Duration: 3-9 weeks (typical). Locations and roles: Oakfield Road – Juniors teachers, normally a weekly full-time rate; Queens Avenue – adults 16+ taught, normally hourly rates. Pay to be discussed at interview, with higher rates for more experience. Holiday pay paid for hours accrued.
You must have:
- A CELTA, Trinity TESOL, or equivalent initial teaching qualification
- A degree (e.g. BA, BSc)
- Full mastery of English across all 4 skills to CEFR C2/IELTS band 8-9
- Right to Work in the UK (for those in Bristol, must have own accommodation in Bristol)
Job Description: Are you a dynamic and motivated English language teacher who would love to work in our lively summer school environment in Bristol? This could be the job for you! Two contract options are available:
- Teaching Juniors (ages 11-17) at 27 Oakfield Road, Clifton, Bristol, BS8 2AT: 15 hours morning teaching using IH Bristol original in-house weekly materials booklets (topic-based, with teacher's notes, written by our core team of teachers and updated annually) + afternoon Creative Classes (normally from a range of Drama, Journalism, Football, Video making etc) and Social activities, with one early evening social activity per week and 1 Saturday trip per fortnight as part of contract.
- Teaching Adults (ages 16+) at 2 Queens Avenue, Clifton, Bristol, BS8 1SE, 15-21 hours teaching per week, with potential afternoon/evening social activities and weekend excursions. General English, plus possible Cambridge / IELTS exam preparation teaching.
Contracts start from 15th June, 22nd, 29th June or 6th July, 4-9 weeks typical contract length. Please note: Apply as soon as possible, but by deadline 24th April 2026.
All new teachers will need to complete an Enhanced DBS check for the Child Workforce, complete a Safeguarding Self-Declaration pre-interview stage, provide three referee contact details including last/present employer, and have a Prohibited List check completed if you have worked in state school education (all organised by IH Bristol HR team).
