  • At voco Grand Central Glasgow, we’re looking for a

Senior Conference & Events Porter to join our team on a full-time basis (40 hours per week) and play a key role in bringing our conferences, weddings, celebrations and events to life.

Set within one of Glasgow’s most iconic hotels, our impressive event spaces host everything from intimate meetings and private dinners to large-scale conferences, weddings and gala events.

No two days are quite the same, and behind every great event is a team making sure every detail is exactly where it needs to be.

We’re looking for someone who is hands-on, organised and confident leading from the front.

You’ll take pride in creating exceptional event spaces, supporting your team and making sure everything is ready, on time and to the standard our guests expect.

  • What you’ll be doing
  • Lead and coordinate event setups, room changes and breakdowns across our Conference & Events spaces.
  • Set up staging, furniture, dance floors, AV equipment, signage and event décor.
  • Make sure every event space is presented to a high standard and ready on time.
  • Allocate tasks and support, train and motivate the Conference & Events Porter team.
  • Take the lead during events, responding quickly to changes and keeping the operation running smoothly.
  • Work closely with our Conference & Events, Banqueting and wider hotel teams to deliver a seamless guest experience.
  • Provide a warm, professional and helpful service to clients, organisers and guests.
  • Ensure equipment is handled safely and all health & safety standards are consistently maintained.
  • What we’re looking for
  • Previous experience within Conference & Events, Banqueting or a similar hospitality environment.
  • Good knowledge of event room setups and operations.
  • Experience leading, supervising or supporting a team.
  • Strong organisation, communication and time-management skills.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a real eye for detail.
  • Someone who takes ownership, stays calm under pressure and enjoys working as part of a busy team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as our events calendar requires.
  • Previous Senior Porter or supervisory experience would be an advantage.
