Canary Riverside Plaza London, Vignette Collection is on the lookout for a dynamic Security Manager to inspire and lead! Joining the IHG portfolio in Summer 2026 as Canary Riverside Plaza London, Vignette Collection marks the brand’s first property in London. Set in the heart of Canary Wharf with stunning views across the River Thames and London skyline, the hotel features 142 luxurious guestrooms and suites, stylish dining spaces, meeting and events facilities and access to a luxury health club, spa and pool.

As a Security Manager, your day-to-day will be driven by our Guests' needs, however you can expect to cover the following duties and responsibilities:

  • People management: coaching and mentoring our Security team; implementing and monitoring training to ensure everyone is trained to the highest security standards and brand requirements, while managing performance.
  • Budget management: department forecasting, handling expenses and working within the Hotel’s budget for security operations.
  • Preventative security: assessing current security protocols, identifying areas of improvement, and implementing preventative security programs; continuously monitoring premises and systems to reduce risk.
  • Incident response: leading response to security incidents, ensuring the safety of guests and staff, investigating causes and implementing corrective measures.
  • Health and safety compliance: ensuring all statutory and legal security obligations are met; maintaining up-to-date knowledge of health, safety, and security legislation, as well as Hotel-specific policies.
  • Contractor management: managing security contractors and vendors, coordinating services, reviewing contracts and negotiating new agreements as needed.

We are searching for someone who is passionate about people, thrives on helping our team to deliver authentic service and manages the behind the scenes to ensure that our guests and colleagues are safe and secure. In addition to this, we are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience as a Security Manager, Head of Security, or similar (within a Hotel environment is preferred).
  • First aid trained, comfortable in delivering training to the wider Hotel team whilst managing a variety of internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Flexibility to respond to security incidents outside standard hours, supporting a team that provides 24/7 operational coverage.
  • Excellent organisation skills, managing the administrative responsibilities of the role while confidently using IT systems (essential).
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to coach and develop team members to their full potential and lead by example.
  • Trained in and application of preventative security measures, with experience in risk assessment, incident response and stakeholder communication both internally and externally.
  • Knowledge of appropriate hotel systems to support security operations, such as surveillance systems, access control and incident reporting tools, is preferred.
  • Relevant security qualifications, such as SIA license or equivalent, are highly desirable.
