Podium at The Manchester Deansgate Hotel is on the lookout for a dynamic Assistant Podium Manager. Join the excitement and become part of the IHG Hotels and Resorts family!

We are looking for someone who can work 39 hours per week across 5 shifts including weekends and evenings.

Welcome to the Manchester Deansgate Hotel where modern luxury travel meets the vibrant spirit of Manchester. Nestled in the iconic Beetham Tower, this hotel features 279 elegantly designed rooms with stunning skyline views. Enjoy upscale amenities including sky bar Cloud 23, 2 Rosette Podium Restaurant, an indoor pool and a fitness centre. Perfect for both business and leisure travellers with 14 meeting rooms and over 1,800 square feet of event space.

As Assistant Podium Manager you will support the Podium Manager in leading the restaurant’s day-to-day operation and take responsibility for the outlet in their absence. You will:

  • Support the Podium Manager in leading the restaurant operation by taking ownership of shifts and ensuring every guest receives warm and polished professional service.
  • Lead and develop the Podium team by setting clear expectations, supporting training and onboarding and giving regular feedback to build confidence and maintain high standards.
  • Oversee the full guest journey and daily service including reservations and table flow, opening and closing procedures, service pace, cash handling and the prompt resolution of guest feedback.
  • Work closely with the culinary and wider hotel teams to deliver smooth service and maintain strong communication while ensuring dietary requirements, allergen procedures, food safety and brand standards are followed.
  • Support the commercial performance of Podium by monitoring stock and waste, encouraging upselling, helping manage staffing levels and identifying opportunities to improve guest satisfaction, revenue and efficiency.

Previous restaurant supervisory or assistant management experience is essential ideally within a high-volume quality-led or rosette-standard venue. You will be a confident hands-on leader with strong operational knowledge, excellent organisation and a genuine passion for developing people and creating memorable dining experiences.
