voco Grand Central Hotel’s Champagne Central bar are looking for a Bar Manager (Full-Time) to join us in creating a warm voco welcome for our guests!
Pull up a seat and step back in time. Our Champagne bar overlooks Central Station and evokes the golden age of travel, with a sash of style and lashings of charm. For those feeling peckish, food is fine, flavoursome, and focuses on small plates and sharing boards. Afternoon tea has a special place on the menu and is – of course – best taken with a glass of Champagne. Awarded the Best Bar None Gold Award at the 2023 Best Bar None award.

As a Bar Manager at the iconic Champagne Central bar your main duties and responsibilities will be managing the team of around 25-35 team members (including 1 Assistant Bar Manager and 3 team leaders) – training and developing our team members to providing voco standards of service. You will be working closely with our other outlets F&B managers within the wider Hotel to ensure a consistent approach across the Hotel. As the Bar Manager, you will also be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, P&L and working with the wider Hotel goals and processes. Our Champagne Central Bar is a popular city-centre destination, and you can expect very high numbers of covers during evenings and weekends.
We are looking for someone who has…
- Availability to work 40 hours per week across 5 shifts (evening and weekend availability essential)
- F&B or Bar Management experience for a minimum of 1 year (managing rotas, time off and holiday requests for a large team is essential)
- Experience in recruiting and training team members, confident in implementing training plans and following correct processes to recruit new team members
- Knowledge of stocktaking, G.P and resolving any problems that could occur within this
- Extensive knowledge of spirits, wines, beers and cocktails (we offer an exciting range of creative cocktails and need someone to lead by example)
- Would be a bonus if you have worked within a similar Hotel structure, understanding wider operations within the business.
- Creativity, you will be involved with creating and changing our menus on a regular basis in line with current drinks trends!
- Overall, ready to work in our voco team and provide our guests with a warm Glasgow welcome!
