A fantastic opportunity to join Scotland’s first ever exclusive Le Petit Beefbar restaurant at InterContinental Edinburgh the George on a Full-Time contract! You will earn £38,000.00 salary, plus service charge.

As a Sous Chef, you are accountable for kitchen operation including production, cleanliness and safe systems of work in the kitchen, and to deputise in the absence of the Head Chef. You will be supporting the Head Chef both operationally (development and management of team members, Rotas) and behind the scenes (stock & ordering, responsible for H&S). You will be someone who is well versed in all sections of a fast-paced, high-end kitchen. The food will be cooked on unique hot stones, so it is critical that you are able to adapt to new methods and support your team in training.
To succeed as a Sous Chef, you will need:
- Experience working within a high-end (ideally branded) restaurant within a busy City Centre location as either a Sous Chef or a Head Chef (preferably for a minimum of 1-2 years)
- Beef-knowledge is essential for this role
- Strong people management skills specifically in training and developing employees, with experience in recruitment, onboarding and training of new starters
- Completed level 3 Food Safety certification and knowledge in HACCP
- Knowledge of appropriate working to brand standards relating to food and the ability to create and deliver appropriate menus, using suitable suppliers and products
- Up to date with critical issues and trends in food
- Technical skills to work on every section for every service period in the kitchen
