We are looking for a Head of Video & Animation to lead the creative production of course content and oversee the visual storytelling that underpins the eLearning library. This role sits at the centre of the content production team, working closely with Production, Product and Development teams to deliver engaging learning experiences at scale.

The Role

As Head of Video & Animation, you will lead the creative development and production of the video and animation elements within courses. You will oversee animation and filming workflows, maintain high creative standards across the course library, and help shape how new technologies and tools are used to improve the production pipeline. This role combines creative leadership, production oversight and collaborative team management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creative Leadership
  • Lead the visual direction and animation style of courses
  • Ensure creative consistency and quality across the course library
  • Review and sign off animation, video and audio production
  • Work closely with the creative team to maintain strong storytelling and engagement standards
  • Video & Animation Production
    • Oversee filming and animation production across new course content
    • Plan and coordinate filming shoots, presenters and actors
    • Support production teams in delivering high-quality visual content on schedule
  • Team Leadership
    • Line manage the animation and video production team
    • Conduct regular one-to-ones, performance reviews and annual appraisals
    • Support professional development within the creative team
    • Provide guidance and decision-making on creative challenges during production
  • Production Workflow & Collaboration
    • Work closely with production leadership to align creative production with the course pipeline
    • Participate in production planning sessions and sprint reviews
    • Contribute to backlog refinement and prioritisation of creative work
    • Use tools such as Jira to track creative tasks and maintain visibility of production progress
  • Tools, Technology & Innovation
    • Manage creative production tools and subscriptions
    • Explore and introduce new technologies to improve production workflows
    • Support the adoption of AI tools that enhance animation and content production processes
