Job Description:
iGo Recruitment is seeking Sessional General Practitioners (GPs) with existing expertise and specialism in providing care for individuals with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). This role operates within a comprehensive care model, emphasizing an interdisciplinary, patient-centric approach. GPs in this role will possess training focused on ADHD diagnosis, treatment, and management across the lifespan.
We are looking for passionate General Practitioners with an Extended Role in ADHD who seek regular and rewarding GP sessions with options across the Midlands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Specialist GP for Adult ADHD: Assess, diagnose, and provide treatment to adults with ADHD, including managing medication prescriptions where necessary. Collaborate with a community and remote-based multidisciplinary team (MDT).
- Service Delivery: Enable early recognition, comprehensive assessments including comorbidities, diagnosis, treatment, ongoing management, and holistic support for ADHD-related care.
- Regular Face-to-Face Clinics: Assess service users presenting with neurodevelopmental difficulties (e.g., ADHD, ASD) to identify health, developmental, or educational concerns and provide clinically guided opinions.
- Community Clinics: Deliver community clinics for service users in accordance with established referral criteria, conducting assessments and offering expert clinical guidance.
- ADHD and Medication Management: Conduct regular face-to-face and telephone clinics to manage ADHD, including medication prescribing and ongoing management.
- Ongoing Medical Management: Retain knowledge of neurodevelopmental disorders and their medical management, ensuring high-quality care for service users requiring continuous support.
- Supervision and Liaison: Engage in regular supervision and communication with colleagues to ensure continuity and consistency of care across service users.
- Administrative Tasks: Undertake office-based administrative duties such as arranging further investigations, referrals, and written communication with professionals and families.
- Clinical Records: Maintain contemporaneous clinical records on SystmOne to ensure up-to-date, accurate documentation of patient care.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with community healthcare teams, social care providers, and education teams as necessary to coordinate care.
