Ignition Driver Recruitment are looking for a reliable, experienced Transport Supervisor to join our client's team in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join our client, who is an End to End Temperature Controlled Transport and Warehousing Solutions provider across the UK.
Essential: To be considered for this role, you will have previous experience working within a supervisory capacity in Transport/Logistics. You must have previous experience in a high-volume transport and warehouse environment.
Transport Supervisor - What You'll Do:
- Manage and supervise a team of HGV drivers and transport staff
- Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed safely and on time
- Monitor driver hours, tachograph compliance, and Working Time Directive adherence
- Oversee route planning efficiency and fleet utilisation
- Conduct driver briefings and debriefs
- Handle transport issues including delays, breakdowns and customer queries
- Maintain compliance with Road Traffic Act, DVSA and transport legislation
- Complete KPI reporting and shift performance analysis
- Support the Transport Manager with operational performance and cost control
This is a really varied role, and it requires someone who can think on their feet, and problem solve quickly.
About you - what you need:
- Your driver CPC (desirable)
- Previous experience working within Transport, Warehousing and Logistics
- You will have demonstrable shift manager/team leader experience
- You will need to have PC skills and be able to use Microsoft Office as well as industry related software (Kronos, Oracle etc)
- You must have up-to-date knowledge of drivers hours and the WTD
- A solid understanding of transport compliance and fleet operations
You must be a UK resident to be considered for this opportunity. We are unable to assist with VISA applications and cannot assist with relocation.
