Join us at Ignition DG. We are looking for an exceptionally talented, ambitious, entrepreneurial & commercially minded Management Accountant capable of playing a key role within the group finance function, contributing towards the success and growth of the businesses. Reporting directly to the Financial Director, you will be responsible for preparing financial & management information to aid commercial decision‑making as well as overseeing the financial management of client projects for each of the businesses across the group.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leadership on month‑end close with a key focus and ownership of Gross Profit.
- Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management account pack, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and variance analysis.
- Management of balance sheet items linked to jobs, specifically WIP, accrued and deferred income.
- Management of Monthly Accruals & Prepayments and Fixed Asset Register.
- Job Management – monitoring budgets and jobs ensuring they are on target and flagging any variance from scope.
- Budget reconciliations.
- Sales ledger management – including raising/finalising invoices, monitoring of client POs, and uploading invoices to online portals.
- Ensuring all rechargeable costs and expenses are billed on to client in a timely and accurate manner.
- Management of aged debtors, creditors, and cash flow.
- Utilisation - Measurement and analysis of timesheet information and job profitability.
- Software and finance training where necessary and effectively communicating financial best practice to all staff.
- Bank reconciliations.
- Oversee and manage supplier payment runs.
- Responsible for management of accounts inbox – via management of a bookkeeper.
- Ensuring supplier invoices are on the system accurately and timely.
- Liaising with stakeholder communications in the accounts inbox.
- Monitoring exchange rates and managing foreign exchange differences.
- Quarterly VAT returns.
- Providing support during year‑end audit and preparation of the Statutory Accounts.
- Ad‑Hoc reporting and commercial analysis.
- Support to the Finance Director and other key stakeholders.
- Work closely with all teams across the business to make sure financial insight and guidance is built into everyday operational decisions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting standards.
About you:
- Passionate and entrepreneurial.
- Have sound knowledge of the financial operations within a small to medium size business.
- P&L and Balance Sheet Job Management (WIP, Cost of Sale Accruals etc).
- Experienced in working on complex projects over multiple markets world‑wide.
