The Role
This role is for an experienced, professionally qualified candidate with a desire to be embedded at a strategic level to support the Director in making business decisions in tandem with hands-on appetite to do the day-to-day tasks that a busy business requires. Ignition are in the midst of an exciting growth phase and need a financial controller with strong commercial acumen to continue to move the business forward and support future planning. As interim financial controller you will take full responsibility for all financial processes in an established finance system. You will report directly to the company’s Director and have line management responsibility of a finance assistant.
Key Responsibilities/Attributes
- Responsible for the entire finance function of the business with oversight of all day-to-day finance operations
- Management of business cashflow through busy event seasons with large outgoings
- Support account directors and team leads in financial management of their project budgets and reconciliations
- Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts with commentary for the Director and a monthly review of project profitability
- Management of the year-end processes to ensure timely delivery of reconciled closing balances to external accountants for statutory filings
- Preparation, review and filing of quarterly VAT returns
- Experience working in multiple currencies is essential
- Provide strategic financial support to the Director to facilitate broader decision-making and business planning
- Act as a true business partner across all business functions, being a point of contact between finance, the Director and the wider company
- A strong communicator who can take the time to explain finance to non-financial team members
