Ignite are excited to be partnering with a fast‑growing FMCG brand in the search for a Quality & Technical Manager. This is a pivotal role in a business scaling rapidly, expanding its product offering, and pushing hard on innovation. They are looking for a technical leader who can own the full technical and NPD programme, ensuring every product lands with excellence, compliance and quality at its core.

Sitting at the heart of the organisation, you will work closely with Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain, Commercial teams and external co‑manufacturers to turn new ideas into commercially successful and technically robust products. You will take responsibility for technical integrity across the portfolio, regulatory compliance, specification management and delivering projects on time and to impeccable standards.

What will you be doing?

  • Leading recipe development and optimisation, embedding strong technical standards throughout
  • Owning technical compliance across UK and EU legislation and staying ahead of regulatory change
  • Managing product specs, formulations and full technical documentation
  • Approving and validating packaging artwork, ingredient lists, nutritional data and all on‑pack claims
  • Developing a long‑term Technical Innovation Roadmap and exploring emerging processing technologies
  • Identifying clean label alternatives, new ingredient systems and next generation formulation opportunities
  • Running NPD projects end to end, building timelines, managing risk and driving cross‑functional delivery
  • Acting as technical lead with co‑manufacturers, managing factory trials, feasibility work and first production
  • Overseeing quality processes including batch testing, traceability, shelf‑life verification and sensory panels
  • Continuously improving technical and NPD processes as the business scales

What skills do you need?

  • Strong technical background in food or beverage manufacturing
  • Experience in NPD, technical development or technical project management
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of food regulations and labelling requirements
  • Confident working with co‑manufacturers and cross‑functional teams
  • Highly organised, collaborative and solutions focused
